There were sure a lot of strangers in this house, Alyssa thought nervously.
She slipped off the couch and padded over to Derek's side. For some reason
she couldn't explain, she felt better with him. Maybe it was because he
seemed to be teh one in charge and people listened to him, she wasn't sure.
But one thing was certain, she was overwhelmed by the shear number of new
people she was meeting in this place, especially since she never expected to
meet anyone new anytime soon.
Derek looked at her and read her expression before offering "Why don't we
leave them to watch their shows and go find something more interesting to
do. Do you like gardens?"
He thought that maybe they could walk through the one here on Angel Island
and he could put her more at ease and question her about things if they
didn't have so many people around. He pointed at her doll that was sitting
on the couch where she had moved from "And don't forget her."
