Hi fellow IPv6 user. It is actually possible to add an IPv6 server to
the pool (see http://www.pool.ntp.org/scores/2001:1bc8:100:18::1:100 )
-- the problem is that the IPv6 servers are currently not actually used
in the pool and their availability is not monitored beyond the initial
check. You have to use the IP(v6) address to add IPv6 servers, at least
for now. DNS names do not work.
As for the message archives referenced by Remco, this plan
http://lists.ntp.org/pipermail/pool-dev/2008-December/000146.html still
sounds like a good plan to me. I hope it gets implemented at some point.
