I see a PPS LED, and right of that, a PPS testing point, but no
indication of that PPS being wired through to serial DCD for example.

Yes, Dave, you may need to use a spare RS-232 converter port, as described
by one user. There are spare ports in the MAX232 chip, I understand, or
the PPS test point may drive an RS-232 line directly. So an odd link may
need to be added.
