Certainly.

But that's not the claim I was replying to.  The claim I was replying
to was that they would use v4 _for pool lookups_: "the DNS lookup will
most certainly remain IPv4 for a foreseeable future".

Which may or may not in turn use IPv4.  While it (almost) certainly
will be capable of using v4, there's no particular reason to think it
will actually do so when querying a v6-accessible nameserver - such as,
putatively, the pool's.
