Unless admins make sure their NTP servers don't have the leap warning bit still set, quite some servers will insert another leap second at the end of *this* month, regardless of the bulletin from IERS. ;-) You can check this if you type: ntpq -c "rv 0 leap" If this prints "leap=00" then everything is fine, but if it prints "leap=01" then the leap bit is "stuck" inside ntpd and another leap second will be inserted on this machine and eventually on its clients.
