Of course. I guess I was not clear, but the point was that each answer can contain multiple addresses, and the 'server' config just picks one, while the 'pool' config takes advantage of this. This was in response to the statement that "only one IP is fetched from a DNS server at a time. That's a fact of the DNS system." It's more a fact of the ntpd and its configuration, not DNS. -- Kenyon Ralph
