Sure, but unsolicited "research" is not appreciated by lots of network operators. In this case of course it is just the probing of a service that is already advertised to be available, but as the operator of a router between the internet and a large subnet of slow links, I have a long blocklist to block the packets from many of those research projects and search machines.
