I needed another tiny instance somewhere anyway, so I didn't give it much thought... Until I realized that I spent $129.81 last month on bandwidth for that host, 99% of which is NTP traffic. So proceed with caution! AWS bandwidth can be pretty expensive, especially in the more 'underserved' regions. I've been careful to associate an EIP with the instance in the pool, so I don't risk my IP changing if the instance gets replaced.
