I am decomissioning an IPv6 pool server (another one will be added to replace it), and trying to get rid of the traffic.
As we all know, a difficult problem.

I removed the pool entry 2 months ago but there still is a lot of traffic, both from "ntpd" type users and also the usual customer routers from lazy providers.

In an attempt to warn some of the users, I tried to send KoD responses.  But it does not seem to work for some reason.

In ntp.conf I have:

restrict -6 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery noserve

The noserve was added for this purpose.  According to the documentation this should reply with KoD to refused traffic (including time requests due to the noserve).
However, it just drops the requests and sends no reply.

Anyone knowing how to do it?  At first I had an "old" ntpd from the distributor, but I compiled ntpd 4.2.8p13 from source and it does the same thing.

(I do know that KoD is not the magic bullet that will stop the traffic, no need to discuss that!)
