Tim, the common denominator for most of us on this list, is that we
have a dial-in Internet service. Once we dial into the Internet, then
we can employ either our providers servers or remote servers. But the
key here is that we first dial-in to an ISP.
The ISP you use has to allow you to relay your mail through their
servers to remote servers. If your ISP does not allow you to use
remote SMTP servers, then you are just out of luck.
Since you use multiple free ISP servers, you have to know in advance
which services will allow you to use remote pop3 and smtp services.

Probably not. You use the remote smtp servers for their own accounts,
but not your ISP accounts.

All I can say here is just try to do what you want. Plug in the values
in your preferences and see if it works. Test it out.
