As advised, I set up my account in Outlook Express and it returned the
following error:

Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: '', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 12002, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

Please advise any other course to resolve this problem. TIA.

HotMail does not have POP3 services. The Outlook programs can be
configured to download and work with your Hotmail email by configuring
the account as an HTTP service.

>From the Tools menu, click Accounts.

In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click the Add button.

Select Mail to open the Internet Connection Wizard, and then follow the
instructions to establish a connection with a mail or news server.

Remember, in setting up a Hotmail account, you would set your incoming
mail server in the pull-down menu as: HTTP
