I can't believe I finally got OE and Hotmail to work together! Hopefully this will help anyone who might have the same problem as I did. Let me first say that I am running IE5.50 SP1 so I am not sure how these directions affect someone with a lower version of IE installed. I went into "Internet Properties" and clicked on the "Security" tab. Press the "Custom Level" button there. If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see the setting for "User Authentication". Mine was set at "Anonymous Logon". This setting will NOT work with Hotmail in OE and some other web sites such as the web email login for MyRealBox.com! Change it to "Prompt for user name and password". Hotmail and OE run great now! So does MyRealBox.com! One thing I can't figure out is how to set up OE for a Hotmail account that ends in @msn.com. Can't seem to get that one working by setting it up the same way as an account that ends in @hotmail.com. Anyone able to get this one to work? If so, please spill out the details. I remember seeing a MSN Hotmail help website that will automatically set it up OE for this type of email account but it was a while back and I could not find it again. If anyone can point me to this site then please do.
