As noted in the posting this was a Softhome system.  I for one got 
angry at Softhome a couple of years ago when they instituted that 
long signup form.  Even with existent and well behaving accounts they 
still required me and everyone else to register again - but this time 
on that long form that I felt was extreme.  I refused at the time and 
gave up about 4 or 5 softhome.net accounts.

Well, I checked out this SeniorGlobe Popper and it too required your 
filling out a long, extreme form.  I stopped dead right there and 
never completed the signup.  

I felt when Softhome instituted their new policy a couple of years 
ago that it was intrusive and delved too deeply into our privacy.  
Even if I were predisposed to falsify my profile, it just was too 
long.  It was not worth my time, especially since I know of many 
alternative sources for free remote pop3 services that don't require 
you to give up your privacy and dignity at the same time.
