hey kids, the following was taken from allstars daily news service.. (don't bother subscribing unless you want millions of tidbits of news on metallica, the backstreet boys and whatever else) How many musicians get to name a color? That's just what Stephen Merritt, mainman of the Magnetic Fields, got to do courtesy of Pantone, Inc. Pantone is a company which publishes a book of color standards. Each distinct color was previously designated only by a number. The Pantone numbers form an industry standard, allowing graphic designers and printers to easily communicate and guarantee an accurate color match for all printing and publishing. Merritt, who once sang the lyric "You make me blue, Pantone 292," was one of a handful of creative types selected by Pantone, each assigned to name one of the company's new colors. Merritt's color? "Carolyn Eve Green" -- Pantone 7498. (Jim Keller) now i remember someone posting that they saw a graphic designer (from disney) in a photograph with the 69 love songs box set beside them, then when i heard the album and the pantone reference, i thought, how appropriate, an in-joke for graphic designers, and then this.... does anyone else know who else pantone recruited to name the colours ? what a great concept. hope all is well.... australia's going into autumn throws.... oh and on the subject of internet radio, my station broadcasts online and you can hear my show between 11:00pm and 1 am (i haven't a clue what time this translates to around the world... but it's around 8:00 am ? tuesday morning in america... but i am not even so sure of this.. and also if anyone is in sydney i am doing a show down there for the month of may on friday afternoons between 3pm and 5..... this is also webcast (i presume from www.fbiradio.org.au) rocknroll... d -- ::::::::::::::object not found:::::::::::::: http://www.renewal.org.au/object :::::::::::::::::loser-fi radio::::::::::::::::: http://www.renewal.org.au/loser ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +-------------------- new york, london, paris, tokyo ----------------+ +------------------ everybody talk about... popjourno! -------------+ +------------------- http://www.pulped.co.uk/popjourno --------------+ +--------- to send a message to the list, please address it to ------+ +----------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -------------------+ +--------- declarations of love, presents, and otherwise saucy ------+ +-------- e-correspondence should be sent directly to the list ------+ +------------------- mummy at [EMAIL PROTECTED] -------------------+ +------------- popjourno currently has over 150 subscribers ---------+ +------------------------ (most of them lurkers). -------------------+ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
