Although I am trying to set up an interview with Chan (Alex don't say you
snatched this one before me ey?), the Catpower concert I witnessed wasn't
topnotch. Well, not even... Actually the only problem was the visual side of
it. Her hair was in front of her face which sort of resulted in she mumbling
the lyrics. I think the problem is that she doesn't fit on a big stage. She
has proclaimed having stagefright... and the Vooruit hall is pretty big. So
I am hoping she'll at least be a bit better when I see her in a smaller club
in a few weeks.

:-) Smog's Knock Knock (can't quite get into Dongs Of Sevotion), Dead Man
Ray's Trap (intelligent quirky popmusic), Dr John's Gris Gris, David Bowie's
early sixties singles (especially I Dig Everything),... Or if you dig *old
stuff*, go for "Singles Going Steady" by the Buzzcocks, "#1/RadioCity" by
Big Star, or Velvet Underground....

See I like this record (though like'em more in concert! woohooo!) but you
need GodSpeedYouBlackEmperor! as well. Then again maybe you just need to
see'em in concert. These groups always seem to have more effect on me when
they perform live.
Has anyone heard of the Penelopes? Just got a bunch of CDs from the guy who
runs the tiny (?) Japanese label which released the Ps CDs.
Now reading David Toop's Ocean Of Sound which results in a ever growing list
of "records to buy".
