hi there, maaike! i read the little prince when i was something like ten
years old and did it again last year, twelve springs later. the book
isn't for kids, really. the characters, specially the drunk man, say
things that a child hardly can "understand". the water-colour paintings
of the book, done by the author himself, are remarkable. i find the
drawing in the beginning, the snake-eating-an-elephant-hat one, lovely
and quite special. also the last picture known as the landscape where
the prince appeared and vanished, breathtaking. it is for sure an
amazing book that, as you've already said, should be read by everyone. i
think it is the same of lewis carroll's alice's adventures in the
wonderland.


changing subjects a little, people were saying that goethe's the sorrows
of the young werther is pure melancholy. what do you guys think of paul
thomas anderson's magnolia? awesome film! i saw it last sunday with my
girl and hardly could breath in the cinema. there is basically no
action, but fear, pain, loneliness, despair, distrust and a great lesson
by the end of the movie. you're never alone but you must forgive if you
want to be forgiven. and let's admit true forgiveness is very rare these
days.
