hi there, you travellers of this virtual world. my name is luis paulo, i
am a 22 yrs old brazilian boy who felt into this list as soon as i read
on the page what it is about. you know love at first reading? well,
something like that. i fancy reading and listening to music. actually, i
can't think of my life without these things. i am a journalist who works
at gazeta on line, a online journal of my city, and i am charge of the
channels of music and cinema. in my spare time i love to take pictures.
portraits are my passion nowadays. i also like landscapes, it's my
second choice when talking of photos. let us talk a bit about
literature. i love poetry, but it's not that i dislike prose. think
they're different things and being so they need to be appreciated in
diverse moments as well. in fact i read everything that i got.
literature addiction? you can say so. the book i am reading now is
thomas mann's the magic mountain. in one word, amazing! before mann, i
read oscar wilde's the importance of being earnest and a anthology of
english romantic poetry. wilde is one of my favourite authors, just like
walt whitman, fernando pessoa, mario quintana, william blake, manuel
bandeira, paulo leminski, wordsworth and vinicius de moraes, who wrote
with tom jobim the well known song garota de ipanema, which most of you
must know as the girl from ipanema.
i love sincerity, freedom, comprehension, peace, quietness, solitude, a
good cup of black with a couple of friends, to smoke the pipe when it's
cold just like today. i also like a good glass of red wine and tasty
food. i believe we must be tolerant and patience with things and people
we don't know. it's healthy for your body and your soul. tomorrow is
mother's day, so i'd like to send my greetings to all the mothers who
read this long message and would like to ask you, who is not a mother,
to stop reading these lines here and go hug your mom, if you can of
course. my father died when i was four and even if i am sure today that
he is always close to me, i understand how awful it is not to have the
ones we love and care near us.
