My phone botched my response to ports@ (wrong sender address) so here I go again:

I do remember shield studies being disabled by default. I saw a blip on HN (not IRC but close enough) about the feature coming to FF 62, and didn't read it closely enough to understand it was merely present in 62, not enabled. I then searched for more on the matter, and found a few pages on Mozilla's blog about using Firefox 62 to use the new functionality, and I somehow interpreted everything I read as "it's enabled" due to my own paranoia, I suppose. Apologies for the noise.
