I missed this thread but I went ahead and removed the TDEP on py-msql for now as the least invasive workaround.
Upstream’s latest release is from several years ago with a claim that python3 support will be added in the future. It seems there’s a patch in the issue tracker to resolve the most glaring issues but I’d like to run that by the maintainer first.
