This was after some talk with mpii@, who had some of the usual
fights with cvs. No, svn wouldn't be of any help here, and tools
like git, mercurial, darcs etc would cause much more trouble. cvs
is primitive and backwards, but it works (but sometimes it kills a
developer who tries to reomplement it). More ?modern" tools appear
to work, but don't for real. At least not for our purposes.
