It's not meant as a comment on your much appreciated work. Rust has become a key dependency of various common pieces of software. It's sad that this has happened with a piece of software whose upstream seems to think cross-compiling as a standard practice is acceptable. If it was a case of "sometimes it runs out of memory and fails" or even "half the time it fails" I'd cope with the retries (like I did with jdk when it was often failing on i386; like I did with chromium before it tipped over the edge). But when it's "keep trying and trying and you may eventually get lucky", it's just not going to happen.
