Hi gang,

I'm having TREMENDOUS difficulty installing p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 from
ports on my i386 PIII 800. I've tried this many times to make sure
it's not me, and I'm pretty sure, it's not.

This is a BRAND NEW install of 3.7 from CD. This ports collection also
comes from CD.

Here's what happens:

Immediately after installing the OS, I
   - enable softupdates,
   - reboot,
   - tar -zxf ports.tar.gz

then I try to install p5-DBD-Sybase:

# cd /usr/ports/databases/p5-DBD-Sybase
# make install

But, then I get this:

===>  Building package for p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04

--------------------------------
On the same machine I then tried grabbing the p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz
package for 3.7 from an ftp mirror, and here's what I get after doing
a:

# pkg_add -v p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz

parsing p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04
Dependencies for p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 resolve to: freetds-0.62.4p0, p5-DBI-1.45p1
Can't install p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz: lib not found intl.2.0
Even by looking in the dependency tree:
       freetds-0.62.4p0, p5-PlRPC-0.2018, libiconv-1.9.2,
p5-DBI-1.45p1, p5-Net-Daemon-0.38
Maybe it's in a dependent package, but not tagged with @lib ?
(check with pkg_info -K -L)
If you are still running 3.6 packages, update them.

--------------------------------
Well, as it was pulled straight from the FTP server onto a fresh,
reformatted 3.7 install, I don't see how that's possible. :-(

So. . . checkmate.

These are the ONLY steps I've taken on this machine. It's a completely
reloaded, fresh, new, clean install--not an upgrade.

Anyone got any hints?

For the record, here's my ls -l of ports.tar.gz

-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 8290068 Mar 19 22:02 /cd/ports.tar.gz

... and of my /usr/local/src/p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz

-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 87998 Mar 18 17:42
/usr/local/src/p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz

...and now for my dmesg:
