Hi gang, I'm having TREMENDOUS difficulty installing p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 from ports on my i386 PIII 800. I've tried this many times to make sure it's not me, and I'm pretty sure, it's not. This is a BRAND NEW install of 3.7 from CD. This ports collection also comes from CD. Here's what happens: Immediately after installing the OS, I - enable softupdates, - reboot, - tar -zxf ports.tar.gz then I try to install p5-DBD-Sybase: # cd /usr/ports/databases/p5-DBD-Sybase # make install But, then I get this: ===> Building package for p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 Can't resolve libspec intl /usr/sbin/pkg_create: Exactly one single package name is required: CVS Makefile distinfo patches pkg w-p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 Error code 1 -P databases/freetds:freetds-*:freetds-0.62.4p0 -P databases/p5-DBI:p5-DBI-*:p5-DBI-1.45p1 -W ct.2.0 -W sybdb.4.0 -W tds.3.0 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/p5-DBD-Sybase (line 2337 of /usr/ports/infrastructure/mk/bsd.port.mk). -B /usr/ports/databases/p5-DBD-Sybase/w-p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04/fake-i386 -Ai386 /usr/ports/packages/i386/all/p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz Usage: pkg_create [-hnv] [-A arches] [-B pkg-destdir] [-D name=value] [-i iscript] [-k dscript] [-L localbase] [-M displayfile] [-P pkg-dependency] [-p prefix] [-r rscript] [-S pkg-destdir] [-U undisplayfile] [-W wantedlib] -c desc -d desc -f packinglist pkgname ===> Cleaning for p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 rm -f /usr/ports/packages/i386/all/p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/p5-DBD-Sybase (line 1918 of /usr/ports/infrastructure/mk/bsd.port.mk). *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/p5-DBD-Sybase (line 1209 of /usr/ports/infrastructure/mk/bsd.port.mk). -------------------------------- On the same machine I then tried grabbing the p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz package for 3.7 from an ftp mirror, and here's what I get after doing a: # pkg_add -v p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz parsing p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 Dependencies for p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04 resolve to: freetds-0.62.4p0, p5-DBI-1.45p1 Can't install p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz: lib not found intl.2.0 Even by looking in the dependency tree: freetds-0.62.4p0, p5-PlRPC-0.2018, libiconv-1.9.2, p5-DBI-1.45p1, p5-Net-Daemon-0.38 Maybe it's in a dependent package, but not tagged with @lib ? (check with pkg_info -K -L) If you are still running 3.6 packages, update them. -------------------------------- Well, as it was pulled straight from the FTP server onto a fresh, reformatted 3.7 install, I don't see how that's possible. :-( So. . . checkmate. These are the ONLY steps I've taken on this machine. It's a completely reloaded, fresh, new, clean install--not an upgrade. Anyone got any hints? For the record, here's my ls -l of ports.tar.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 8290068 Mar 19 22:02 /cd/ports.tar.gz ... and of my /usr/local/src/p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 87998 Mar 18 17:42 /usr/local/src/p5-DBD-Sybase-1.04.tgz ...and now for my dmesg: OpenBSD 3.7 (GENERIC) #50: Sun Mar 20 00:01:57 MST 2005 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC cpu0: Intel Pentium III ("GenuineIntel" 686-class) 798 MHz cpu0: FPU,V86,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,PAE,MCE,CX8,APIC,SEP,MTRR,PGE,MCA,CMOV,PAT,PSE36,MMX,FXSR,SSE real mem = 267952128 (261672K) avail mem = 237731840 (232160K) using 3296 buffers containing 13500416 bytes (13184K) of memory mainbus0 (root) bios0 at mainbus0: AT/286+(34) BIOS, date 08/16/00, BIOS32 rev. 0 @ 0xfd8b0 apm0 at bios0: Power Management spec V1.2 apm0: AC on, battery charge unknown pcibios0 at bios0: rev 2.1 @ 0xfd8b0/0x750 pcibios0: PCI IRQ Routing Table rev 1.0 @ 0xfdf00/224 (12 entries) pcibios0: PCI Exclusive IRQs: 9 pcibios0: no compatible PCI ICU found: ICU vendor 0xffff product 0xffff pcibios0: Warning, unable to fix up PCI interrupt routing pcibios0: PCI bus #1 is the last bus bios0: ROM list: 0xc0000/0x8000 0xc8000/0x1000 0xc9000/0x3a00 0xe0000/0x4000! cpu0 at mainbus0 pci0 at mainbus0 bus 0: configuration mode 1 (no bios) pchb0 at pci0 dev 0 function 0 "ServerWorks CNB20HE Host" rev 0x22 ppb0 at pci0 dev 0 function 1 "ServerWorks CNB20LE Host" rev 0x01 pci1 at ppb0 bus 1 vga1 at pci1 dev 0 function 0 "3DFX Interactive Voodoo3" rev 0x01 wsdisplay0 at vga1: console (80x25, vt100 emulation) wsdisplay0: screen 1-5 added (80x25, vt100 emulation) pchb1 at pci0 dev 0 function 2 "ServerWorks I/O Bridge" rev 0x00 pchb2 at pci0 dev 0 function 3 "ServerWorks I/O Bridge" rev 0x00 pci2 at pchb2 bus 2 gdt0 at pci0 dev 1 function 0 "Vortex GDT6x18RD" rev 0x00: irq 11 dpmem d8000 2-bus 1 cache device gdt0: ver 218, cache on, strategy 2, writeback on, blksz 32 gdt0: raw feat 1 cache feat 101 scsibus0 at gdt0: 35 targets sd0 at scsibus0 targ 0 lun 0: <ICP, Host drive #00, > SCSI2 0/direct fixed sd0: 17359MB, 2213 cyl, 255 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sec, 35551845 sec total scsibus1 at gdt0: 16 targets scsibus2 at gdt0: 16 targets fxp0 at pci0 dev 7 function 0 "Intel 82557" rev 0x08, i82559: irq 10, address 00:30:6e:0a:55:13 inphy0 at fxp0 phy 1: i82555 10/100 PHY, rev. 4 clcs0 at pci0 dev 8 function 0 "Cirrus Logic CS4280/46xx CrystalClear Audio" rev 0x01: irq 11 ac97: codec id 0x43525914 (Cirrus Logic CS4297A rev 4) ac97: codec features headphone, 20 bit DAC, 18 bit ADC, Crystal Semi 3D pcib0 at pci0 dev 15 function 0 "ServerWorks ROSB4 SouthBridge" rev 0x50 pciide0 at pci0 dev 15 function 1 "ServerWorks OSB4 IDE" rev 0x00: DMA atapiscsi0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 1 scsibus3 at atapiscsi0: 2 targets cd0 at scsibus3 targ 0 lun 0: <LITE-ON, LTR-12101B, LS39> SCSI0 5/cdrom removable cd0(pciide0:0:1): using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2 wd0 at pciide0 channel 1 drive 0: <Maxtor 6E040L0> wd0: 16-sector PIO, LBA, 39205MB, 80293248 sectors wd0(pciide0:1:0): using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 2 ohci0 at pci0 dev 15 function 2 "ServerWorks OSB4/CSB5 USB" rev 0x04: irq 5, version 1.0, legacy support usb0 at ohci0: USB revision 1.0 uhub0 at usb0 uhub0: ServerWorks OHCI root hub, class 9/0, rev 1.00/1.00, addr 1 uhub0: 2 ports with 2 removable, self powered isa0 at pcib0 isadma0 at isa0 pckbc0 at isa0 port 0x60/5 pckbd0 at pckbc0 (kbd slot) pckbc0: using irq 1 for kbd slot wskbd0 at pckbd0 (mux 1 ignored for console): console keyboard, using wsdisplay0 pcppi0 at isa0 port 0x61 midi0 at pcppi0: <PC speaker> sysbeep0 at pcppi0 lpt0 at isa0 port 0x378/4 irq 7 npx0 at isa0 port 0xf0/16: using exception 16 pccom0 at isa0 port 0x3f8/8 irq 4: ns16550a, 16 byte fifo pccom0: console pccom1 at isa0 port 0x2f8/8 irq 3: ns16550a, 16 byte fifo fdc0 at isa0 port 0x3f0/6 irq 6 drq 2 fd0 at fdc0 drive 0: 1.44MB 80 cyl, 2 head, 18 sec biomask fb65 netmask ff65 ttymask ffe7 pctr: 686-class user-level performance counters enabled mtrr: Pentium Pro MTRR support dkcsum: sd0 matched BIOS disk 80 dkcsum: wd0 matched BIOS disk 81 root on sd0a rootdev=0x400 rrootdev=0xd00 rawdev=0xd02 clcs0: firmware loaded audio0 at clcs0 As always, many, many thanks.
