I have just been able to get around to trying to get this port to work well with serial gps devices. It turns out that /dev/cuaXX should be used for serial port connections.
If possible, could someone test with a USB gps device please. Otherwise, I have tested on i386 with a Garmin eTrex, all working correctly. -- Tom
