After reading ncmpc(1) (especially the NOTE section), googling, and searching the ports@openbsd.org archives, I still can't get ncmpc to do conversion from UTF-8 to ASCII. If anyone got this working, I'm very interested in advice or just a simple hint.
ncmpc shows this error message in the bottom window, when conversion fails: "Error: Unable to convert characters to ASCII". I'm running OpenBSD 4.0-current and have, among others, the following snapshot packages installed: faad-2.0p5 flac-1.1.2p1 gettext-0.14.6 glib2-2.10.3p0 libao-0.8.5p3 libaudiofile-0.2.6p0 libiconv-1.9.2p3 libid3tag-0.15.1bp0 libmad-0.15.1bp1 libmikmod-3.1.10p4 libmpcdec-1.2.2p0 libogg-1.1.3 libshout-2.2 libvorbis-1.1.2p0 mpc-0.11.2 mpd-0.12.1 ncmpc-0.11.1 speex-1.0.5p0 Regards, Martin
