zhuk imported this for nepomuk. nepomuk came and then left the tree again. Our version 6.1.6 is very old (2013). Nothing uses it anymore. It gets in the way of progress in libcrypto.
I should note that upstream is now at version 7.2.6 which should be compatible with OpenSSL 1.1. An update is more work than I'm willing to invest in something that is unused.
