There doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in scala here... Just for the sake of process: Does anyone still have an interest in running the scala 2 branch? If so, I'd like to know why our scala is so far behind the latest 2.12 or even 2.13.14. If not, I think we should switch to 3 and commit this diff which I'll do in about a week unless I hear objections.
