re plaso_and_deps_updates.diff, I skimmed through it, couple of things I noticed;
- your tree isn't up to date, there are some files from 2020 or so in there which have been updated more recently - py-artifacts, filenames in /usr/local/bin are getting a bit too generic (stats.py -> stats, validator.py -> validator), can they be renamed (or are they needed at all? i don't see them in docs)
