great, so send translations to google to have them to use even more electricity and water needlessly instead, so they can do the translation plus feed into whatever they feed it into for profiling etc?
just turn it back on. again, i don't think translations are disabled, just AI-based translations. you're not going to be running AI locally in lw/ff, unless i'm mistaken? i think they just use external chatbots and if so it's the same argument.
but you can turn it back on. i think it's /usr/local/lib/librewolf or something. just buzz around and you'll find it. modify the policy file in there on your install, and then restart the browser. then you have whatever you want.
actually building from source is not required, if the user wants to change this. they can use the binary package, and then modify their own local installation of the policy. this is just the policy that goes in /usr/local, which the user can modify. the actual binary still has these features available, unmodified except by virtue of the policy, which the browser interprets on startup.that is a complete pain for package updates.
it's the same behaviour that the firefox port uses. i maintain sync with the ff port.
also, use of language services isn't required. you can use a human interpreter if necessary, or learn the language yourself. i started learning german last year.
but yeah, just modify it.or idk. i mean, i'm in change of stewarding this port, but if the other peeps in puffyos want it, they can turn stuff back on. we're all team players right?
