Okay... It appears to be an issue in scrotwm. I can move the icons in fluxbox, but not in scrotwm. I will notify scrotwm folks about this... probably a simple fix to the conf. I use scrot on my laptop and just on a whim, I loaded fluxbox to see if that would fix it. @Antoine: I was not aware of that... thanks... I will try it for the sctrowm folks...
