If you're not, buy somewhat open hardware.

Again, the official support for nvidia cards in Xorg is very very poor.
This is a known issue, due to the fact that nvidia doesn't care, they just
give "token" support for free software.

People who don't care install an OS with support for closed binary drivers,
such as linux.

There's a huge effort uphill to reverse-engineer those cards and make a
driver from scratch, based on linux, that's called nouveau.

So far, nobody has ported that software to openbsd, in part because it was
moving very fast, and in part because it was not very clean.
