I use a USB Webcam and VLC for recording short videos.
I do not know from where it stopped working.
At 6.0 and CURRENT sometime around the new year, it worked.
to the current i386 and amd64 on March 17 and i386 1 and 2 weeks back
VLC segfalt when you try to record from webcam
video(4) works
vlc > open captute device > webcam ..
