Regarding the ongoing effort to get rid of the gettext module, the current state is that only "simple" ports still use it. No MULTI_PACKAGES, no FLAVORs.
My next step will be to check all remaining ports whether they need gettext-tools and then move the BUILD_DEPENDS out of the module and into the ports that actually require it.
