Hiya. I live in EST5EDT. (actually, I normally use /usr/share/zoneinfo/right/US/Michigan )
Mozilla's Thunderbird seems to think I live in MST7MDT. All my e-mail's time stamps are off a couple hours, for both messages sent and received. In fact, the date line on my messages is, um, amusing: Date: Fri, 25 Oct 2019 09:22:40 -0600.44999999999998863 (you can probably see that on this message if you look at the headers). I thought this might be related to the fact that I've got a very old install with probably 15 years of cruft in it, but I just did a new install on a different machine, and connected it to my imap server and ...again, all my e-mail was two hours off. So I'm thinking it's Not Just Me, though I don't see other complaints. If, within Thunderbird, I go to: tools -> Developer Tools -> Error Console and enter the command "Date()", it comes back with the time/date two hours off and "GMT-0600 (GMT-06:00:27)", which is consistent with what I see Looking at the headers of sent e-mail, I see ... confusing stuff. The .44999... stuff seems to have started between these two: Date: Sat, 16 Mar 2019 23:39:18 -0400 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; OpenBSD amd64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/60.3.3 Date: Mon, 25 Mar 2019 08:40:47 -0400.44999999999998863 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; OpenBSD amd64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/60.5.2 and the timezone change on OUTGOING messages seemed to start between these: Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2019 23:36:47 -0400.44999999999998863 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; OpenBSD amd64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/60.8.0 Date: Wed, 16 Oct 2019 23:11:31 -0400.44999999999998863 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; OpenBSD amd64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/60.8.0 HOWEVER -- incoming mail was showing the two hour difference quite some time before April 16. I'm thinking months before, though I'm not sure exactly. Got any hints/suggestions as to how I can persuade Thunderbird I don't live in Theo's basement? Nick.
