Sorry for jumping in late here, but I see that no one's mentioned the
obvious, to wit, the Country, Rhythm & Blues set that MCA put out back in
'94, pairing sundry country artists with sundry R&B/soul acts.  It's a real
mixed bag, with some pretty bad failures, but also some solid successes on
it, and it certainly fits the "combination of" spec.

It's also worth pointing out that the sequential work of the Amazing Rhythm
Aces, Russell Smith's solo work and then the lunacy of Run C&W all involve
the same kind of r&b/country blend, in most cases pretty damn effectively.
