It's called the Santa Fe Trails Bluegrass Festival and happens over Mother's Day Weekend, the 7-9th of May. This is our 2nd Annual event, and it's being held at the Wyandotte County, Kansas Fairgrounds, about 12 miles due west of Kansas City, MO just off I-70. You can visit our web site listed below for more information. Our roster includes: Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Del McCoury, Special Consensus, Druha Trava, The Freight Hoppers, Stephen Bennnett, Spontaneous Combustion, The Drifters, The Wilders, Bill Barwick The Euphoria String Band, The Et Cetera String Band, Live Bait the Band, The Bluegrass Missourians, Roger Landes and Connie Dover, The Bluegrass Brigade, The Blue & Gray Pickers, Shenanigans, and last, but not least, Linda Tilton, the best darned signer for the deaf and hard of hearing in the blugrass business. One of our development partners is Mr. Bob Redford, promoter of the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS. That festival happens (for the 28th consecutive year) during the third week of September, 1999. This is a don't-miss festival if you're anywhere near the area, like within two thousand miles or so. There's also the Tulsa Bluegrass and Chili Festival just before Walnut Valley, and the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival in Guthrie hosted by Byron Berline in October. Kansas City is pretty much in the middle of the country, so if you're headed anyplace, come on by. By the way, my band played the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Festival in Zimmerman last summer, and I can highly recommend that event, as well. And now, back under the rock.
