Typically good story by Rick Bragg in yesterday's NY Times
about two Stuart, Florida pig farmers who're engaged in a
legal battle with a local golf course. The conflict is not over
the stench, but over the farmers' right to play country
music loud enough so that the porkers can hear it. The
farmers say the pigs really like it. I haven't got time to
re-copy the article, but you can learn about this epic tussle
pitting art & commerce vs. the sports world on the
Thompson's pig farm website:

The Dixie Chicks were playing when Bragg visited Mr.
Thompson. Will their publicist will include the article in
their clippings file? Will Garth mount a benefit concert for
the pig farmers defense fund (which does exist)? Are
Thompson's pigs hearing P2 acts? Have they heard the new
Wilco album and what do they think of it?
