Hi NC/SC Americana Fans: It's time for the weekly update for Charlotte, NC's weekly dose of Americana - the Showcase happens each Tuesday night - 9:00 PM - at Charlotte's Coolest music room - The Double Door Inn. This week - Tuesday, April 20th Willy Evans Trio will host with featured guest Michelle Willson. Michelle's latest release, on Bullseye Blues & Jazz, is "tryin' to make a little love". Backed by a group of New Orleans & New England based musicians, the new effort proves that Michelle is one of the best R&B-based singers on the scene today. Moving from deep soul to the jump blues sound for which she's known, Michelle makes songs come alive with feeling, exquisite interpretation and breathtaking vocal technique. Join us for a "bluesy" Americana night this week! By the way - Friday is the last day to make a pledge to WNCW during the Spring Fund Drive. Remember, they are the only voice for Americana music in our region so give them a little support! You can pledge online @www.wncw.org or by phone @1-800-245-8870. You'll even pick up a copy of their in-studio CD "Crowd Around The Mic Vol 2" with cuts by several artists who have been guests at our Showcase (The DeRailers, Dave ALvin, R B Morris, Seconds Flat, Tony Furtado); MaxxMusic shows (Fred Eaglesmith & James McMurtry) or are Showcase regulars (Michael Reno Harrell). And for all of you who were at the Robert Earl Keen/Fred Eaglesmith Show last year and came looking for the CD with "White Trash" - it's on this CD (and it isn't recorded anywhere else!!). See all of you Tuesday Maxx
