That could be, it was just one random pick. I performed the same stats on mail.python.org (which is running postfix-2.8-20110102) and found no COMMAND PIPELINING after QUIT at all. mail.charite.de (on the other hand) was running postfix-2.8-20110109. Still no proof of anything, but maybe there's something. I upgraded mail.python.org to postfix-2.8-20110109 as well (now).
