You need to use the password verifiction service 'saslauthd' instead of the ldapdb auxprop plugin. Call saslauth as documented and tell it to use saslauthd.conf. This is a Cyrus SASL specific file that holds LDAP query configuration. Follow the instructions at <http://git.cyrusimap.org/cyrus-sasl/tree/saslauthd/LDAP_SASLAUTHD> to find out what you need to do.
