Hi there,

Our aims, based on the hacker ethic are:
- Ethical ideas by a community of people
- Knowledge shared with other people who can benefit from it
- Important resources should be utilised rather than wasted

Hope this helps your research.

Hello yangleo730,

Thanks for asking; where are you based for your research?

In addition to Ian's eloquent response, which puts it very well, there is
also the Potteries Hackspace Constitution:

Simple, for me HackSpace/MakerSpace means:

A place where people can turns dreams and ideas into objects of beauty or
functionality.

A place where skills and knowledge can be shared and acquired.

A place where businesses are born.

A place of community where the sum of the member is greater than that of
the individuals.

A place where the old and worn out is repaired or re-invented into
something new.

A place that bridges the gap between age, gender and ability.

A place where the only limitation is the imagination.
