My goal is too have developer local servers handled the same way we handle our staging servers.

Eg
Proof.dev1.kanbantest.com -> 10.0.0.110
Prod.dev1.kanbantest.com -> 10.0.0.120
Local.dev1.kanbantest.com -> requesting IP

The proof & prod are handled by pound, the local is handled by host entries, which can be annoying to manage since we have a large number of sub domains on top of the base shown here

i don't understand this scenario.
if you need to connect when connecting to local.dev1.kanbantest.com to localhost, why you just don't specify local.dev1.kanbantest.com IN A 127.0.0.2 ?

why you want to push it over balancer?

I thought about it using an iptables nat rule....  Never actually tried it..

I was wondering if there was a way to set Pound up to proxy back to the requesting IP?
