The internal implementation already sorts the macro mames.  Then it 
narrows the search as it goes:  eg once it sees an a, it only looks 
at macros starting with a when the second charater comes.

Just to be clear, for Zoot, my guess is the the slowdown has nothing 
to do with Zoot or PowerPro, but rather is the system overhead 
imposed by continually have to switch back and forth between the 
special 16 bit process space and the normal 32 bit space.  But that 
is just a guess.
