Alan, can I withdraw the bet? :) I tested it myself at lunch time as the working of the second one does not make quite a sense with my assumption. Indeed the cause is %env%, more precisely "%", however, not only in the parameter field but also in the command field too. Although PP might take care of them by itself, it seems to me not a fault of PP, but a fault of the Windows, since even unchecking "Replace %envvar% throughout the command" in GUI does not make any difference at all. 1) No problem at all if the command has an "explicit" space in it, not "implicit" one as in %ProgramFiles%, as already reported. Windows seems to put the quotes by itself when it's returned from PP. 2) The command has no "%" in it: -> problematic only if the parameter contains "%". Cmd: C:\Windows\explorer.exe Param: %ProgramFiles% 3) The command itself has "%" in it: -> always problematic unless the parameter field is empty (or /). Cmd: %ProgramFiles%\Messenger\msmsgs.exe Param: /s Cmd: C:\Windows\explorer%.exe Param: C:\ (I copied explorer.exe to explorer%.exe in this case) 4) Empty command field & Non-empty parameter field: -> problematic only if the parameter contains "%" Cmd: (<- should be empty, not (none)) Param: %windir%\explorer.exe 4') However, the following's work fine, with the icon being the "Folder" icon: Cmd: Param: C:\Windows\explorer.exe Cmd: "" Param: %windir%\explorer.exe Sean ------------------------ Yahoo!
