Promised I'd give a report...it's kinda long. The following script takes you to the Yahoo! login window and generates a list of handles for all the child windows. A wait is necessary for gestation of all the children. // http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.done=http://groups.yahoo.com&.src =ygrp&.intl=us wait.until(5000) local dWin = win.childhandleList("Yahoo! Login*","Done") debug &(dWin) //
Make a note of the handle number returned, but keep the browser open because each new instance will generate a different set of handles. Next change the script by removing the "Done" portion to get a complete list of all the handles: // http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.done=http://groups.yahoo.com&.src =ygrp&.intl=us wait.until(5000) local dWin = win.childhandleList("Yahoo! Login*") debug &(dWin) // >From the returned list, I found that the little window at the bottom of the browser comes up 15th on the list. So I played around with a few tests using: local dWin = win.childtextbyindex("*Explorer",15) and testing whether the value was equal to "Done"...it is, so the index of the little window at the bottom of ie explorer #15. Okay, so here's what I've got to that is working and is fairly simple: // http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.done=http://groups.yahoo.com&.src =ygrp&.intl=us wait.until(250) local dWin = win.childtextbyindex("*Explorer",15) wait.for(10000,dWin=="Done") // Turns out the wait.until is critical, otherwise the script hangs, just like all my other attempts to get it to go via For...endFor formatting (another story), but it even hangs using wait.for(250). Thanks again Alan for providing some incite. Daque Attention: PowerPro's Web site has moved: http://www.ppro.org Yahoo!
