After my last post, I found a DOS app in system32 folder: edit.com
And noticed that both of it and PP were slowed down in response. But I
didn't post again because the trick "starting a DOS app from cmd.exe"
solved the problem here too and I thought Bruce might already have
found the reason and fix.

However, now I think I have to anyway as the forum is being haunted by
He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
