DDE is a rather elderly method for communicating with an already-open
application. Specifics of how it's done for any given app found in
Explorer Tool | Folder Options => Folder Types, pick the type, pick
"open" action, push "advanced".
I suspect Bruce's underlying code will use the DDE route if it's been
setup.
Do("http://www.google.com/") certainly opens the url in Firefox on my
machine, but ff jumps to front of all other apps at the instant the do
executes. What I'm trying to do is fiddle away in other apps
while Firefox loads up with various urls in a background window.
