Above apparently doesn't mean I can't get a long string using a DDE
request to Ecco -- just successfully retrieved one with a length over
29K. I guess the issue must be how to set one. So far I've only tried
retrieving info. Retrieving works both with
string=dde.request(..various..) and dde.execute(..various..) followed
by string=dde.request("GetLastResult").
