First, a big THANK YOU to the hundreds of list members and site
supporters who sent in donations last month. We started June with under
$200 between our petty cash, checking, and PayPal accounts, over $8,000
in receivables, and declining ad income.

In June, we took in $1,400 for display ads, $250 from retail sales, sold
our Cube for $1,250, and received a big payment from our past-due
sponsor. Receivables are down to almost $6,000, we paid all our writers,
and I've been able to catch up on payroll for the first time since
launching Low End Mac -- mostly due to over $2,000 in donations.

It costs $3,200-3,500 a month to run the site, which covers everything
from hosting, our Internet connection, freelance writers, and payroll.
Those donations are the only reason I'm not looking for another job, so
another big thanks to everyone.

We are in better shape this month. After paying taxes, paying writers for
May, and payroll through yesterday, we still have enough cash on hand to
cover expenses through next week -- and we hope to see more income from
ads and list sponsors by then.

Things aren't as tight as they were six weeks ago, but it's going to be
tight for the next few months, so we are again soliciting voluntary
contributions. Our preferred method is PayPal, since it gives us instant
access to funds.

We are also set up with Kagi and the Amazon Honor System, but both take a
larger piece of your donation than PayPal does. Details at

We also accept contributions sent to Cobweb Publishing, Inc., 2544 Martin
S.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49507.

Anything helps -- last time donations ranged from $1.50 to $150. These
lists and the site remain free; donations are strictly voluntary.

Thanks for your support.
