What was the fastest modem ever available for a PB 500 series? My 540

The standard GV 500 modem will do 19.2, if it can find a host which will
properly "train" it to that speed. Otherwise, the GV 500 can always find a
host which will properly train it to 14.4 if the host port supports 28.8 or
higher (most do).

I strongly suspect the GV 500 modem has a firmware flaw that results in the
training process being prematurely aborted at 19.2, and immediately
thereafter quickly from 19.2 to 14.4.
