I bought a 4 G hard drive and the former owner left on it a clean install of system 9.1, which booted fine on the 5300. I had it installed in a powerbook 5300ce (active matrix screen, 117mz, 64 mb ram). The 5300ce needs to log into a NT server, a Citrix metaframe, run Office 98, DAVE and/or an old version of Virtual PC (however slowly)
a) My question is, should I leave on 9.1 for the networking capability, or is it far too demanding of the 5300? b) Or, is system 8.6 better for these requirements? (I do not want to run a system older than this) c) Since I would be running at least system 8.6, is Speed Doubler 8 helpful since there is PPC code in this system?
